Santiago Bonilla
Santiago Bonilla (México, 1988) studied Linguistics and Hispanic Literature, and then attended cinema school at Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos, where he graduated as cinematographer and director. In France he attended Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains under Béla Tarr, Matías Piñeiro, Ben Russell and Joan Fontcuberta tutorship. His work relates matter, abstraction and memory with documentary practice. Interested in phenomenology and painting he finds in spaces, landscape and bodies self-perception awareness. He had FONCA Jóvenes Creadores under Ximena Cuevas tutorship and he won the XVº short film screenplay prize at Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia.
